Working Construction Site Superintendent

Qualifications:

  • Earthwork construction; five years parentheses preferred parentheses

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred

  • Drivers license preferred

Job description:

This full-time position is responsible for the overall leadership of all aspects of a project including, monitoring the overall quality of work and safety performance. Qualified candidates will thoroughly understand the earthwork commercial and residential side of the construction industry, contract documents, plans and specifications and have excellent communication and teambuilding skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work with some aspects of daily demand work

  • Assume the leadership with all aspects of a major earthwork project, including utility installation, road reconstruction, sidewalks, retaining walls, etc.

  • Schedule all materials, people, equipment and trucks required to complete the work

  • Perform all work as the competent person and promote safe behavior on your project

  • Effectively communicate the daily vision and goals for the job site with all employees

  • Maintain heavy earthwork sites that adhere to all regulatory agency requirements (OSHA, PUC, DEP, etc.)

  • Complete daily job site inspections and construction reports including JSA's, equipment reports, confined space entry, and trenching reports.

  • Lead and mentor jobsite personnel

  • Prioritize safety with all subcontractors

  • Develop good cost containment practices

  • Must be able to focus on being a team player with the ability to help and support all personnel to expedite a job and improve on projects

Requirements:

  • Able to handle and excel in a fast-paced environment

  • 4 to 5 years of heavy earth work construction or related experience, in a leadership position required

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is a plus but not required

  • Proven experience developing client relationships

  • Very strong communication, listening, and organizations skills

  • 10 or 30 hour OSHA training preferred

Experience:

  • Earthwork construction: five years preferred

  • Foreman: five years preferred

License/certification:

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred

  • Drivers license preferred
